Frequently Asked Questions:

How many children in the program?
There is a maximum of 8 children and minimum of 5. The term program will proceed only when the minimum number of children are enrolled.
Is my child suitable for this program?
The target population for this group is listed above. Additionally, if your child is open and willing to participate in learning activities that support their physical and mental health, and engage in various group tasks including games, art and activity sheets, then they are a good match!
What is the studio like?
The Yoga Freedom studio is specifically chosen due to its calming ambiance. The environment is predominantly free of distractions and noise (no hard wooden floors or mirrors on walls). There are natural and artificial lights which can be adjusted as required. There is one flight of stairs to access the studio.
Do I need to stay for the session?
No, you do not need to stay at the studio during the session. If your child is uneasy with you leaving, you are welcome to stay as required and there is a small kitchenette and lounge area so bring a book and make yourself a cuppa!
Does my child need to attend each session?
Yes, it's a termly program. The learning concepts across the term program build upon one another each week. There are no refunds if you cannot attend a session.
Can I use my NDIS funding?
Possibly, if your NDIS goals align with the program aims. Please advise if you receive NDIS funding when registering your interest.

Do I need to attend the parent session?
No, this is not compulsory, however research indicates that when families and caregivers are supported, their children thrive. Plus, psycho-education benefits to your own mental health and can lead onto a ripple effect within the family unit. These sessions will be in the evening and online making it more accessible for family members.
Is there ‘homework’ after each group?
Rather than set ‘homework’, children are encouraged to explore and experiment with concepts and practice implementing these at home.
It’s also recommended that you to talk to your child about their take aways from the group. From my own clinical and personal experience (as well as research outcomes), the likelihood of success using strategies and applying learnt information is increased when there is regular practice. It’s preferable to do it with your child which helps with motivation, promotes lifelong learning and importantly, connection.
What training has Michelle done?

She has completed specific 95 hours of children and teens yoga training to become accredited, various mindfulness training programs, mental health yoga training, numerous mental health and trauma informed practice courses.
